Last Monday when York and I had a day off, we decided to search for more organic cafes in Adelaide. East End always have nice lunch places, so after reading the reviews we decided to give East End Providore on Ebenezer a try. The cafe was small but spacious with plenty of seats both inside and outside. There were many organic products (chocolates & coffees) on the shelves in the cafe and they also have a refrigerated section that sells hand-made almond milk.
I really wanted to give the hand-made almond milk a try, however my friend Laura told me recently that grapefruits are great for weight loss (apparently after I googled this, there were no direct links between grapefruit and weightloss oh well…) I decided to go for the fresh grapefruit juice. York ordered blood orange juice instead of his regular coffee. Probably trying to eat extra healthy with me The juices came out in a small tray which I thought was very cute.
The menu range was extensive for the size of the cafe. However both of us ordered “Fresh from the grain pasta with ragu di bologna from “andre’s cucina”. We usually will try order something different so we can share, somehow we both really craving for pasta that day. The portion was good for lunch and I loved the pasta! I would want to come back and have the pasta again, but I really want to try something else on the menu too. Such a hard choice when everything could potentially taste nice at a place.
I really like this cafe and I wish I can come back more often. I think the food is a lot better than those fancy, well-known cafes around Adelaide suburb. I often think the breakfast menu in those cafes are over price for the portion given and ingredients they used. This place is definitely value for money and it will be one of my favorite lunch place from now on.
